Manchester United are finally set to welcome Amad Diallo to Old Trafford after securing a £37million deal for the Atalanta youngster back in October.
The Red Devils completed the signing of Diallo on deadline day of the previous summer and autumn transfer window, but as part of the deal he remained with Atalanta until January.
Now the 18-year-old is poised to officially become a United player with the winter window due to open on New Year’s Day.
And ahead of his move, Daily Star Sport have put together a list of shirt numbers he could be given in Manchester.
All of United’s shirt numbers from 1 to 11 are taken this season, with 12 the lowest available after Chris Smalling left to join Roma permanently on deadline day.
Smalling wore the No.12 shirt throughout his 10-year stay at Old Trafford and it has remained vacant since his departure.
Andreas Pereira joined Lazio on a season-long loan deal back in October, meaning his No.15 shirt will be available when Diallo arrives in January.
Nevertheless, if Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sees a future for Pereira at the club United chiefs may decide against giving his jersey away to a new signing.
Diallo could take on number 19 at the Theatre of Dreams, which has been vacant since Marcus Rashford upgraded to number 10.
The jersey was worn by Dwight Yorke during United’s historic 1998/99 treble-winning campaign, as well as the likes of Gerard Pique and Edwin van der Sar.

Like Pereira, Diogo Dalot also left United in the previous transfer window to join AC Milan on loan and his number 20 is free.
Diallo will certainly have big boots to fill if he takes this shirt, which was worn by Red Devils manager Solskjaer during his legendary playing stint.
