South Sydney hooker Damien Cook acknowledges that it appears unlikely his skipper Adam Reynolds will remain with the Bunnies next season – but believes it’s unlikely the veteran playmaker will end up at the Broncos.
The Brisbane club is all-in on Reynolds, with coach Kevin Walters and CEO Dave Donaghy expected to fly to Sydney today for discussions with the 30-year-old.
Like the Cronulla Sharks, who lead the hunt for Reynolds' signature, the Broncos will reportedly offer Reynolds a three-year-deal. Meanwhile the Bunnies are refusing to budge on a year-by-year approach to the Premiership winner’s contract.
But Cook just can’t see the Broncos landing the in-demand expert game-manager.

Broncos powerbrokers fly to Sydney with all-in attempt to sign Reynolds
“I can’t imagine him going to the Broncos but I definitely think there’s some truth to it,” Cook told Fox League on Friday night.
“Why wouldn’t the clubs want to sign him? There’s some clubs out there that could really benefit from him.
“Of course, we want him to stay at South Sydney but that’s just part of the game at the moment.
“Some players have to move on but I hope he doesn’t, he’s a big part of the reason why I went to South Sydney and he’s playing some really good footy at the moment too.
“Look, he deserves all the clubs coming and chasing him but I just hope it works out sooner rather than later.
“He has handled himself well but I’d rather it get done for him so we can move on.”
Cook conceded Reynolds is unlikely to return to Redfern next season – but understood his star half had to do what was best for his career and family.

Cook said: “I fully understand that there’s a massive chance that he won’t be there.
“When it comes down to it, I don’t know where the talks are with his management and South Sydney and if they’re still in that one-year (extension offer) or what’s going on there.
“But we are in this game for a short period of time, he’s got a young family and I understand he’s got to look after them first.
“So whether that’s at South Sydney or another club, I don’t want him to go anywhere else, but you’ve got to look after yourself sometimes.
“He’s put his body on the line for this jersey for a long time and we’ve got a great chance to win the premiership this year and hopefully once it is all sorted if he is gong to go, which I hope he doesn’t, we can win it and send him out on a high.”
