Lewis Hamilton has revealed the inspiration behind him bulking up – cheesy treats Cheetos and pancakes!
The British Formula One great has beefed up as he looks to create history by winning a sixth consecutive world championship double for Mercedes.
But one of theirs car has fuel which nobody was expecting.
Britain’s five-time world champion has added some muscle in the off-season and explained which foods made him get in such great shape.
Hamilton took advantage of F1’s new weight rules to put on a stone of muscle this winter break.
He explained: “I got in the car the other day and I had put weight on. I did my seat fitting and that was interesting!
"Over the winter I could eat whatever I wanted, so pancakes and Cheetos.
“I stayed very active, and there is good and bad about that as you run low on energy. But for the last month I have been pretty clean.
“My body fat is going down and you target more efficient defined muscle.
“I am not trying to be the Hulk, but it takes time to put on muscle in the right way and it has been great to eat bigger portions.
“I feel in the best shape I have ever been in and can lift more weights.”
He also revealed he has turned to other sports to get himself into tip-top condition.
“I’ve just done different disciplines; martial arts, other sports which and use different parts of the body.
“Every year, when you get back in to training it’s painful. I don’t have a trainer, but this year I’ve worked with several different people.
“I’ve tried different things and feel stronger than I’ve been in a long time.”
Mercedes chief Toto Wolff thinks Hamilton is in the best physical and mental state of his life.
"The weight regulations have been lifted and he came back stronger and musclier than before," said Wolff.
"He’s in a super mental state, the best I’ve seen so far. He looks physically and mentally in shape – half an hour before the session started he was all ready to go."
