Red Bull have sent a cheeky public message to Lando Norris after posting a video of the McLaren star drinking a Red Bull on the same day that his team announced their new partnership with Monster Energy.
Norris, who is no stranger to taking playful punts at his F1 rivals on social media was on the receiving end of a tongue-in-cheek Instagram post from the reigning constructor champions, who uploaded a video of the Brit drinking their famous energy drink, with the caption: “DW @landonorris, we’ll always have your back in your moment of need #givesyouwings.”
This comes after McLaren signed a “multi-year” contract with energy drink competitor, Monster. The deal sees McLaren lure the high-profile drinks company away from a 14-season partnership with Mercedes.
Rodney Sacks, chair and co-CEO of Monster Energy Company said: “We would like to express our sincere appreciation to the Mercedes Formula 1 team, and [motorsport boss] Toto Wolf in particular, for a partnership that has spanned well over a decade and seen us celebrate some wonderful success together.
