It’s no secret that F1 are looking to expand their vast audience into America as the calendar has welcomed Las Vegas and Miami in recent years, in addition to Austin.

Since 2012, the US Grand Prix has been held in Texas after Indianapolis, Phoenix and Watkins Glen have come before. However, F1 has never been able to topple NASCAR as America’s most popular motorsport.

But it’s not for the want of trying and a fourth Grand Prix stateside could propel F1 to unprecedented heights. Here are four cities we think could host a Grand Prix.

    New York

New York is the most obvious choice. The thought of F1 cars racing through the streets of the concrete jungle is incredible. However, it's not without major hurdles to overcome.

New York was previously touted as a possible destination but interest has seemingly cooled since Miami and Las Vegas have been awarded their respective Grand Prix. Formula E have been racing round Brooklyn since 2017 but, given the headache that Vegas preparations have caused locals, bringing the Big Apple to a standstill doesn’t seem wise.

Plans for a Port Imperial street circuit were made back in 2011 and would make for an exciting weekend if it were viable. We even mocked up what a New York Grand Prix could look like with the help of AI, which you can see below.

What US city would you like to see host a Grand Prix? Let us know in the comments section.

    Los Angeles

A Hollywood setting for F1 sounds perfect. The city that has a massive attraction for the world’s biggest entertainment names and sports stars would do wonders for the spectacle of the race.

But given Las Vegas’ inclusion on the calendar, would a second race on the west coast be viable or sought after given the time difference that would affect F1’s main viewing audience in Europe?

    Chicago

A fourth US race could be made in the north to complete all main areas of the country being represented by an F1 Grand Prix. Chicago is also streets ahead of other possible locations.

For the first time in 2023, NASCAR cars took to a street circuit in the city and F1 could follow suit by adding some adjustments to the circuit. F1 have been eager to grow its audience in the States and a crossover with America’s most popular motorsport has the potential to be the key to unlocking the sports' untapped success across the pond.

F1 cars have already graced San Francisco after Red Bull took their car on a demo run over the iconic Golden Gate Bridge.

Seeing cars roar down the Las Vegas strip has whetted some fans' appetite to see F1 race around famous landmarks such as the World Heritage site of Azerbaijan. The opportunity to have 20 plus cars (if Mario Andretti gets his way) tearing over the water sounds incredible. to us.
