Tua Tagovailoa leaves with injured leg in Alabama’s defeat of Mississippi State

TUSCALOOSA, Alabama — Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was injured in the third quarter against Mississippi State.

He had a quad injury on his right leg Saturday, according to a CBS sideline report, when he was sacked on a third-and-9 with 2:42 left in the quarter. Cameron Dantzler was credited with the sack, but several Bulldogs were pressuring Tagovailoa.

He took a helmet to the muscle above the knee. It is the same leg as his chronic knee issue.

Tagovailoa limped off the field and immediately went into the medical tent on the sideline with Alabama leading 21-0.

Through three quarters Tagovailoa has been sacked multiple times against Mississippi State and take hits on other attempts.
