Tom Brady net worth: How much is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers star worth before Super Bowl LV?

NFL: Brady and Mahomes prepare for Super Bowl LV

Tom Brady goes in search of a record-extending seventh Super Bowl victory tonight but for the first time will look to enjoy glory without the New England Patriots. Brady is now with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who host Patrick Mahomes’ Kansas City Chiefs, the winners of last year’s Super Bowl, at the Raymond James Stadium at 11.30pm UK time.

All six of Brady’s previous Super Bowl wins came with the Patriots in 2002, 2004, 2005, 2015, 2017 and 2019, losing out to the New York Giants in 2008 and 2012 while also losing to the Philadelphia Eagles in 2018.

Despite being 43 years old, the legendary quarterback – billed by many as the ‘Greatest Of All Time’ – has led the Buccaneers to their first Super Bowl since 2003.

That was Tampa Bay’s only ever victory and Hall of Famer Brady is looking to clinch the Vince Lombardi Trophy for the franchise for the second time but comes up against Mahomes and the Chiefs, who won the 2020 Super Bowl by defeating the San Francisco 49ers.

Brady’s sensational career, which includes four Super Bowl MVPs, has seen him become one of the best-paid athletes not just in the United States but across the world. Celebrity Net Worth say Brady’s net worth stands at $200m.

After leaving the Pats, Brady signed a two-year $50million contract with the Bucs last offseason with Pro Football Network saying there is a further $9m available in incentives this season and next year.

The Tampa Bay QB made $500,000 alone from the Bucs’ victory over Green Bay in the NFC Championship Game, say ESPN, and stands to make $500,000 again if they beat the Chiefs.

He has already made $1.75m from his team’s postseason performance having become only the fourth different QB in all-time NFL history to lead two different franchises to the Super Bowl after Kurt Warner, Peyton Manning and Craig Morton.

Across his 20 seasons in the NFL with the Patriots, which yielded nine Super Bowl appearances, Brady racked up around $350m in earnings including $235m earned in salaries and bonuses from New England.

Only Saints QB Drew Brees, who could retire at the age of 42 in the coming weeks, has made more money than brady in the history of the NFL.

The latest Forbes list released in May 2020 meanwhile made Brady the 21st highest-paid athlete in the world though his $45m take-home in 2020 was dwarfed by tennis star Roger Federer’s $106.3m.

By the time his current Bucs contract ends, Brady will have racked up in excess of $400m in salary and endorsements.

An extra $100m outside of his salary comes from sponsors, licensing and memorabilia having become the face of American Football over the years since he was drafted in the sixth round back in 2000.

Brady has always been known for sacrificing his own financial gain to allow his teams to better spread out their finances.

Mahomes’ 10-year Chiefs contract, by contrast, could be worth up to $503m with the deal worth $450m and the rest made up in bonuses.

Outside of the NFL, however, Brady has also made money from other avenues including his health and wellness company TB12 Sports.

He also owns a production company named 199 Productions, with the name a reference to the fact he was drafted as the 199th overall pick 21 years ago.
