Joe Tessitore is fine, but the analysts? Jason Witten and Booger McFarland. Yeah, they just aren’t cut out for this. Their analysis has been a mix of erroneous and bizarre.
Let’s return to a two-man booth, and I know the perfect guy to sit alongside Tessitore in that booth. In fact, he is already doing work for your network. I’m talking about Peyton Manning, who writes and narrates Detail, a film breakdown series exclusive to the ESPN+ streaming service.
I’ve seen the first episode, which focuses on Cardinals rookie Josh Rosen. It’s quite good. Manning is able to break down intricate details in an easy-to-digest manner. And he’s pretty entertaining while doing it! That combination has made Tony Romo a star for CBS. It will do the same for Manning.
