Steelers teammates clean out Le’Veon Bell’s locker after missed deadline

There’s no love lost for Le’Veon Bell.

Steelers players removed the running back’s nameplate from his locker before raiding the contents left behind after Wednesday’s practice, dividing up personal items that included shoes and clothing.

Linebacker Bud Dupree even thanked Bell for the new pair of Jordan Brand cleats.

Le’Veon Bell fails to report to Steelers, will sit out rest of season

The Steelers confirmed Bell failed to report to the team and sign his franchise tag by Tuesday’s 4 p.m. ET deadline, ruling him ineligible to play the remainder of the season.

By not signing the $14.5 million tender, his second in two years, Bell will not accrue an NFL season and is expected to end his tenure with the team that selected him in the second round of the 2013 draft when he becomes an unrestricted free agent this offseason.
