David Njoku will miss significant time in 2019, as the Browns tight end suffered a concussion and broke his wrist during his team’s 23-3 victory against the Jets in Week 2.
His wrist injury could require surgery, and Cleveland announced Friday he has been moved to injured reserve, which will keep him out of commission for at least eight weeks.
Njoku is seeking a second opinion on whether surgery is necessary though.
The 23-year-old appeared to be primed for a breakout season, as the 2017 first-round pick out of Miami tallied 56 receptions for 639 yards with four touchdowns last year.
