Broncos RB Melvin Gordon cited for DUI, speeding in Denver

Broncos running back Melvin Gordon was cited overnight and charged with driving under the influence in Denver, according to court records.

Denver County Court records obtained by USA TODAY Sports show Denver police stopped Gordon late Tuesday after allegedly driving between 25-39 mph over the speed limit. He was also charged with two separate misdemeanors of driving under the influence.

“We are aware of the situation involving Melvin Gordon," the Broncos said in a statement to USA TODAY Sports. "Our organization has been in communication with him and is in the process of gathering more details.”

Gordon could face league punishment, including a potential suspension.

His case is scheduled to be arraigned Nov. 13.
