Booger McFarland’s mobile cart gets a makeover by ESPN thanks to fan feedback

Viewers of “Monday Night Football” noticed Booger McFarland’s mobile cart received some changes during Monday’s broadcast between the Patriots and Bills.

The “Booger Mobile” (as it’s been called by fans) was the subject of several complaints throughout the season for being obstructive. For fans at the game, the cart took up a lot of space and blocked the view for spectators in the lower level. To counter this, they added a television carrying the delayed broadcast, which only blocked more of the view.

Initially, in a statement to Sporting News, ESPN defended the cart. The network still stands by its production decision to allow McFarland a unique perspective of the field, but to its credit, acknowledged the experience needed to improve for fans at the game and took action.

“Our production team listened to fan feedback and made the adjustment to Booger’s cart this week,” an ESPN spokesperson told Sporting News.

The updated cart certainly looks a lot better from a fan perspective. It still takes up a lot of space, but it’s not nearly as distracting as it was with the giant monitor on board. The initial decision to include the monitor makes sense at first because it gave fans something to see, but it ended up just causing more problems.

For now, it looks like complaints about the Booger Mobile will be limited.
