After several hours worth of trades, the Broncos used pick No. 98 Friday night in the third round to draft Wis.-Whitewater offensive lineman Quinn Meinerz.
The 6-foot-3, 320-pound Meinerz started 20 games for Whitewater at left guard. He did not play in 2020 after his school’s season was canceled because of coronavirus.
Meinerz was a first-team All-America in Division III in 2019. He was a late invite to the Senior Bowl in January and had several impressive practices before sustaining a broken right hand and missing the game.
The Broncos shipped No. 76 to New Orleans for Nos. 98 and 105 in the third round. The Saints chose Stanford cornerback Paulson Adebo. Pick No. 98 was a compensatory selection given to the Saints for losing free agents A.J. Klein, Vonn Bell and Teddy Bridgewater in March 2020. Bridgewater was acquired by the Broncos on Wednesday from the Carolina Panthers.
