A pitch invader briefly held up the Super Bowl with fans joking that they gained more yards than the Kansas City Chiefs offence.

The Chiefs struggled against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with Tom Brady guiding the Bucs to the Vince Lombardi trophy.

The Chiefs found life difficult on offence with Patrick Mahomes struggling with a turf toe injury.

And fans were quick to make the same joke as a streaker, who was wearing more clothes than many do, invaded the pitch.

One wrote: “That streaker just picked up more yards than the Chiefs offense has all night.”

While another put: “The streaker made it to the endzone before the Chiefs did.”

A third added: “The streaker really got more rushing yards than the Chiefs.”

Alongside a clip showing the invader dashing 40 yards, another commented: “Streaker crashes field at Super Bowl, gets more yards than the entire Chiefs offense.”

Former NFL cornerback Jason Bell believes Mahomes’ injury was having a huge impact on the game.

He said on the BBC: “Patrick Mahomes' movement has been off. His toe (injury) has got worse as the game's gone on.

  • “You saw his running earlier and we thought 'hey, if they do this, he can beat you with the running game and Patrick Mahomes scrambling'.

“But he’s slowed down for a reason. He throws off-platform a lot but you can see he's not putting a lot of pressure on that toe. It's affecting his throws.”
