Former Cardinals outfielder Chris Duncan dies at 38 after cancer battle, report says

Former Cardinals outfielder and first baseman Chris Duncan died Friday at the age of 38 after a nearly decade-long battle with brain cancer, according to 101 ESPN Radio St. Louis.

“It’s with an extremely heavy heart that we announce that our former teammate Chris Duncan lost his battle today,” the station posted on Twitter. “He will always be a part of our family at the station and a big part of our community! RIP Dunc we love you!”

Duncan, 38, left his job with the station in January to focus on his ongoing battle with brain cancer.

He was first diagnosed with glioblastoma in 2012 after cancer had grown on the left side of his brain.
