Track: Soft 6. Rail: True
RACE 1 IRONMARK HANDICAP (1100M)
Overview: A lot here rides on the debutant Sacred Field and the Team Hawkes trained colt has looked good at the trials. He is well found having said that. Conexy ran a decent figure first up and the horse that beat him, Overpass has been going great guns. Kalashnikov has trialled well and will have admirers, while everything went wrong for Sonnet Star last start (including being on the wrong part of the track) and she can improve sharply here.
BETTING ADVICE: Sacred Field to win.
TAB MARKET MOVERS: Park Avenue $16-$12, Sacred Field $1.90-$2
RACE 2 TAB HIGHWAY CLASS 3 HANDICAP (1400M)
Overview: Open Highway as the market suggests. Statesville comes through the best form line and he was good in the Wagga Guineas. The winner of that race, Maranoa has run well since and he can put himself on speed and should keep kicking. Manseneta is likeable from the low draw and he looks to have found his grove of late. He should be strong late. Mr Wong, Loving Cilla (if she gains a start) and Swagger all have claims and the chances don’t end there.
BETTING ADVICE: Manseneta and Statesville.
TAB MARKET MOVERS: Manseneta $8-$5.50 ($200 e/w @ $8/$2.90, $400 @ $7.50)
RACE 3 TAYLOR CONSTRUCTION HANDICAP (2400M)
Overview: Plenty of angles here but I think Sky Horse comes through the best lead up. I know she was beaten more than five lengths in the Warrnambool Cup but they ran time and the winner is a smart horse, while the second placegetter has won well since. She also gets in very light. No Compromise is the horse to beat off the last start effort at Rosehill and the only knock I can find for him is he will be a fair way off them. Stockman and High Opinion aren’t hopeless and their chances improve if the rain arrives on race day as predicted.
BETTING ADVICE: No Compromise the horse to beat but $4 is about right. Sky Horse represents some value.
TAB MARKET MOVERS: Feel The Rush $8-$6.50, No Compromise $7-$4.80-$4 ($307 @ $7, $300 @ $6.50, $400 @ $6)

RACE 4 SPORTING CHANCE CANCER FOUNDATION HANDICAP (1400M)
Overview: Pretty keen on Bright Rubick here and she had no luck when wide without cover last start but she still battled on well. She beat home Snippy Fox prior to that and meets that horse 3kg better off at the weights for doing so. Snippy Fox also looks backable and she is building nicely this prep. Obvious Step was beaten four lengths last start but probably should have won and also has claims, while the favourite, Grande Rumore can win but is unders for mine.
BETTING ADVICE: Bright Rubick to win.
TAB MARKET MOVERS: Grande Rumore $6-$4.80 ($500 e/w @ $6/$2.30, $445 @ $5.50, $1,000 @ $5, $500 @ $5, $250 e/w @ $5/$2), Bright Rubick $15-$9.50 ($750 e/w @ $15/$4.20, $300 @ $12)
RACE 5 WILSON ASSET MANAGEMENT HANDICAP (1200M)
Overview: Gravina has been building nicely this prep and I thought his run was good at Scone last start where he chased a hot speed and boxed on well in a race that suited the swoopers. His run was similar to Dynamic Impact who won well on Wednesday at Canterbury. Tycoonist ran well fresh when not suited by the wide draw and should roll forward this time, while Sixgun was solid fresh and will have admirers but looks a tad short in the market.
BETTING ADVICE: Gravina for me.
TAB MARKET MOVERS: Bravado $14-$9.50-$11, Sixgun $6.50-$4.40-$4.80 ($400 @ $6)

RACE 6 FUJITSU GENERAL HANDICAP (1100M)
Overview: Hard to go past Marway and he has been flying this prep. Back to 1100m is probably not ideal and he has to come to the end of the prep at some point but he is the horse to beat. Inanup pulled up lame last start but he has trialled well either side of that and he looks the value runner. Enchanted Heart is airborne and any rain on race day will really help her. Conversely, Albumin wants it dry but there’s no doubt he is a better Rosehill horse for mine. Southern Lad can improve, while Wandabaa is a great chance if the rain comes.
BETTING ADVICE: Inanup the value but Marway the horse to beat.
TAB MARKET MOVERS: Wandabaa $8-$5.50 ($425 @ $8), Marway $2.80-$2.60 ($1,000 @ $2.70, $500 @ $2.70)
RACE 7 NSW M&H AIR HANDICAP (1300M)
Overview: Dream Circle was super fresh and that wasn’t a fluke. He won over 1400m at this track last prep defeating Ellsberg and can be midfield here and should be strong late. Yukon’s figures stack up OK here and he had a soft trial leading in. Canasta and Knight both have claims providing they don’t take each other on, while April Rain has good each-way claims but I couldn’t possibly entertain her at odds on and I think she has been overrated to date.
BETTING ADVICE: Dream Circle to win.
TAB MARKET MOVERS: April Rain $2.80-$2.10 ($2,000 @ $2.80, $2,000 @ $2.70, $500 @ $2.70, $625 @ $2.60, $1,000 @ $2.50 Twice, $500 @ $2.50 Multiple Times, $500 @ $2.40, $750 @ $2.25, $500 @ $2.10)

RACE 8 PRECISE AIR HANDICAP (1400M)
Overview: Open race. Brutality has been heavily backed and put in a cracking run last start. The drop back in trip and possibility of a drying track is a concern though. True Detective was really good at long odds last prep and he ran up to that mark several times last prep. Lina’s Hero gets a good run in transit and should be there late, while Eleven Eleven should be peaking fitness wise here.
BETTING ADVICE: Lina’s Hero and True Detective both run well in an open race.
TAB MARKET MOVERS: Brutality $11-$4.20 ($250 x $350 e/w @ $11/$3.50, $400 @ $8, $1,900 @ $5, $200 e/w @ $5/$2)
RACE 9 UPHIRE HANDICAP (1100M)
Overview: Hard to go past Malkovich and do they trial better? He has bolted in at both trials this prep and the time has been about 13 lengths above average for both trials. Hulk was super fresh and should be strong late again, while Placquette and Belluci Babe will have admirers as well.
BETTING ADVICE: Malkovich to win.
TAB MARKET MOVERS: Bulletin $21-$26-$23 ($500 e/w @ $26/$6, $1,000 e/w @ $23/$6, $500 @ $23), Hulk $6-$5
