Derby barrier gets Big tick from Gai

DARREN Weir’s torrid week continued when his two Victoria Derby runners Extra Brut and Savoie both drew poorly.

Extra Brut drew barrier 15 and Savoie drew barrier 17 in this morning’s draw.

Gai Waterhouse was happy with favourite Thinkin’ Big’s draw of nine.

“I’m not worried about the barrier. He doesn’t have to lead,” Waterhouse said.

Thinkin’ Big will start from barrier 7 if both emergencies are taken out.

Second favourite Aramayo drew next to Thinkin’ Big in barrier 10.
