Sam Reid faces two weeks on the sidelines after the Match Review Officer handed the Giants veteran a suspension for his bump on Fremantle superstar Nat Fyfe.
MRO Michael Christian released his findings from Sunday’s Round 2 AFL games, with Reid charged with engaging in rough conduct against Fyfe.
Christian assessed Reid’s incident as careless conduct, high impact and high contact, equating to a two-match ban.

As the impact grading was ‘high’ and not ‘severe’, Reid was not sent straight to the tribunal. However the Giants have until Tuesday morning to indicate whether they’ll challenge the suspension at the tribunal.
Fremantle coach Justin Longmuir on Sunday night confirmed the superstar midfielder had suffered a concussion in the collision with Reid. Fyfe was the first player this season to have been subbed out of a game due to concussion.

Under the AFL’s new 12-day concussion protocols, Fyfe will miss at least one match — next Sunday’s clash with Carlton — as a result of the Reid’s contact.
If he recovers in time, Fyfe would be permitted to return for Round 4’s home game against Hawthorn.
The only other MRO sanction to emerge from Sunday’s games was handed to Richmond midfielder Jack Graham, who can accept a $1000 fine for making careless contact with an umpire during his side’s win over Hawthorn.
