Tyson and Mayweather delight in shock Lopez win over Lomachenko

Mike Tyson has hailed Teofimo Lopez as ‘the man to beat’ after his stunning win over Vasyl Lomachenko on Saturday night, while Floyd Mayweather won big betting on the underdog.

The 23-year-old earned a unanimous decision victory (116-112, 119-109, 117-111) over Lomachenko at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, downing the man that many considered to be the best pound-for-pound boxer on the planet.

With the sublime performance, the American now holds the IBF, WBA, WBC ‘Franchise’ and WBO lightweight titles, making him the youngest four-belt world champion in history and the only one ever in lightweight history.

His record now stands at 16-0 and has caught the attention of boxing legends with his immense skills.

Mike Tyson, a fellow native of Brooklyn, New York, hailed the performance of Lopez, tweeting: ‘Brooklyn was definitely in the house tonight. Lopez is the man to beat. Another Brooklyn champion.’
