Paul calls out KSI with Wassabi fight in doubt but claims rival is ‘scared’

Jake Paul has offered to fly to England to fight long-time rival KSI after the latter's bout with Alex Wassabi was plunged into doubt.

Both stars are currently without an opponent after originally having fights scheduled for this month. Paul, 25, was due to face Hasim Rahman Jr. on Saturday before it was alleged the latter's failure to make weight resulted in their bout being scrapped.

KSI (real name Olajide Olayinka Williams "JJ" Olatunji), meanwhile, was set to go up against another YouTuber, Wassabi, at the O2 Arena on August 27. That bout is reportedly at risk of suffering a similar fate, however, amid reports injury has made Wassabi a doubt.

Ever the entrepreneur, Paul spotted an opportunity for both parties to ensure their recent training camps aren't put to waste. The bleach-blond boxer can be seen laughing as he commiserates with Wassabi before gloating that it will prove "KSI is scared" unless he accepts the bout.

"Heard that Alex is out bc (because) of a concussion. F****d up," wrote Paul in the caption. "This was a big opportunity for Alex. He will be back. KSI… everything happens for a reason. I’ll come fight in your hometown. Your boxing company. You are A-Side. I also agree to make 180 pounds for August 27. You accept?"

KSI, 29, previously powered to a decision victory over Paul's older brother, Logan, in his boxing debut in November 2019. The Briton hasn't fought competitively since then, while the younger Paul sibling has built up a 5-0 professional record (despite having yet to face a professional boxer).

There is a weight element to consider given KSI was due to face Wassabi at 175 pounds, while Paul is considerably larger in general. The American fought Tyron Woodley at a weight limit of 192 pounds in their rematch.

While Paul has offered to come in at 180 pounds for to any match-up, that doesn't account for any additional weight he'll be able to add back on prior to the bout. That being said, KSI has already proved he can best a bigger opponent considering the elder Paul personality, Logan, was even larger.

Boxing fans who had been looking forward to both dates may be saved by the suggestion of a crossover event. KSI could have his opportunity to silence both Paul brothers for good, while Jake eyes his chance at vengeance on in the family's name.
