It's the strangest item that Chris Eubank Jr has ever been asked to sign – and now it's going for huge money on eBay.
The 32-year-old had finished a training session in Newcastle last week in preparation for his his fight with Wanik Awjidan, and was walking back to his accommodation when he was suddenly mobbed by fans.
Of course, he had to adhere to the usual requests for selfies and autographs, but for once the boxing star was caught off guard when one fan asked him to sign a microwave.
Eubank Jr was clearly taken aback by the request but after realising the youngster was being serious, duly scribbled his name on the top of it.
The clip soon went viral on social media and the British fighter, son of former two-division world boxing champion Chris Eubank, retweeted the video and praised the courage of the fan.
"Only in Newcastle will you find such dedication and resourcefulness. The balls this kid must have to walk around the town centre on a Thursday night ALONE with only a microwave to watch his back, deserves a medal for bravery."
However, a signed microwave is seemingly more popular than the boxer realised. The item has now been auctioned on Ebay and as of Thursday afternoon, had attracted a bid of £65,900. Only 24 hours previously, the seller had set the asking price at £50.
Bids did seem to ramp up after Eubank Jr himself made a classy gesture, vowing to match the top offer and donate the proceeds to a charity of the buyer's choice.
“Been sent a link to an eBay auction that's selling the microwave I signed in Newcastle,” he tweeted.
What so you make of Chris Eubank Jr's offer? Let us know in the comments section.
“No idea how much it’ll go for but to make this a more meaningful situation whatever the winning bid is I’ll match it and give the money to a charity of the winner’s choice.”
While his pledge as proved popular with fans, Eubank Jr, a multiple champion in two different weight divisions, may not find himself inundated with more bizarre requests, with @MrBullshiz responding with "Chris will you sign my cat? I’ve shaved a square in his back already."
Regardless, the initial incident didn't seem to affect the focus of the man from Hove, who on Saturday night comfortably beat Awdijan after the German failed to come out of his corner for the sixth round.
It took his professional record to 32-2-0.
