Chris Eubank Jr says Liam Smith ’embarrassed himself’ in controversial exchange
Chris Eubank Jr and Liam Smith top a solid bill tonight at the AO Arena, Manchester filled with quality domestic talent. The always-exciting Florian Marku, cheered on by his horde of Albanian fans, is in action against Dylan Moran of Ireland while one of Britain’s brightest prospects, Adam Azim, goes toe to toe with Ukraine’s Aram Faniian.
Above them, on the bill, there is British welterweight champion and Olympic gold medallist Lauren Price, who continues her surge towards world honours as she takes on former WBO title challenger Lolita Muzeya. Meanwhile, former unified super featherweight champion Mikaela Mayer is looking to stay active after losing her belts to Alycia Baumgardner last year with a late-notice bout against Italian veteran Silvia Bortot.
There is also a quality British middleweight title fight being staged between Mark Heffron and Jack Cullen that promises to excite. But perhaps the most anticipated contest on the card, for better or worse, is Frazer Clarke vs Dave Allen.
Allen, a household name on the British circuit, retired from the sport shortly after being knocked unconscious by Oleksandr Usyk in a sparring session in 2020 but returned to the ring a few months later to put together a string of wins over journeymen Andrea Pesce, Milen Paunov and Michael Bassett. He now steps between the ropes against his first genuine threat since David Price, four years ago, as he throws down with undefeated professional and Olympic bronze medallist, Clarke.

Eubank Jr: “What happened in the last fight was not supposed to happen. Even to Liam, he may not admit it, but he was not expecting the fight to finish how it finished. Nobody was…I have to prove that I am the better fighter.
“Me saying it, me believing it is not enough. If he pulls it off again, if he does what he did in the first fight in this fight, I can’t argue with anybody.
