Former boxing world champion Carl Froch has claimed the Earth is flat and NASA is “fake” as part of a bizarre conspiracy theory centred around space.

Froch, 43, believes the entire planet has been sold a lie about the shape of the Earth – as well as Neil Armstrong’s historic moon landing in July 1969.

The Cobra insists there is no proof that the Earth is round, joining the likes of cricket legend Freddie Flintoff in siding with the conspiracy.

“The Earth is flat, 100 per cent,” he said on the Pound for Pound podcast with Jake Wood and Spencer Oliver.

“There's no proof of the Earth's curvature and this fake space agency Nasa use CGI images and every one is different.

“I’m looking at them thinking, 'Hang on a minute, they're like cartoons'.

“When someone like Richard Branson goes up there and starts doing chartered flights… and you can look back on Earth and see the Earth's curvature, I'll believe the Earth is a globe.”

Froch, who became a two-time world super-middleweight champion in his 35-fight professional career, has also stressed that Armstrong becoming the first man to land on the moon in July 1969 was faked by NASA.

However, his army of fans could not get on board with the conspiracy theory on social media.

One said in response to his claims: “This is what happens when people hit you in the head for a living.”

England cricket icon Flintoff is on board with the conspiracy, telling The Sun: "If you’re in a helicopter and you hover why does the Earth not come to you if it’s round?
