Marvel star Batista takes swipe at WWE for

WWE EXTREME RULES RESULTS

The Animal wrestled his last ever match at WrestleMania 35 where he lost to his former Evolution mentor Triple H but still keeps an eye on professional wrestling despite his growing acting career.

The six-time world champion also keeps in touch with other fellow legends like Undertaker with whom he spoke to last month before WWE Super ShowDown, which took place in Saudi Arabia.

Taker was scheduled to battle Goldberg in a dream match that went up in flames in Jeddah as the WCW legend got busted open, suffered a concussion and collapsed at ringside.

Batista knew the fight would flop and that is why he jokingly tried to talk The Deadman out of it when they spoke on the phone.

Undertaker still wrestles on a part-time basis for Vince McMahon’s promotion despite his advanced age of 54 and his long history of injury throughout his near-three-decade career.

Batista, who now performs under his real name Dave Bautista, believes the seven-time world champion is still there for the right reasons, mainly because he loves the business, but wishes he was utilised in a better way.

The six-time world champion insists the WWE legend’s match with Goldberg was a bad idea and claims he would have never agreed to wrestle in Saudi Arabia regardless of who they would book him against.

Batista told GQ: “I called, man. I called Taker and said, ‘Is there any way I could change your mind?’

“He laughed, and I knew I couldn’t change his mind.

“He said it sounded good when we first started talking about it.

“I only saw highlights which were, you know, low lights. It was not good.

“It’s just bad circumstances all the way around.

“I feel like Taker’s there for the right reasons. I think he’s there because he still loves it.

“But I wish that they would utilise him in the right way.

“I think a novelty match with Goldberg is the wrong way.

“I just don’t think it’s good for anybody and especially it’s not good for the fans.

“I wouldn’t have gone to Saudi at all. I don’t care who they would’ve booked me with. I just would not have gone.

“But I loved my final match at WrestleMania, with Hunter [Triple H].

“The fans wanted to see two old guys go to war. That’s what we did. That’s the way the match was designed.”

Batista made a name for himself in Hollywood when he was cast in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy as well as the Avengers franchise.

Undertaker’s most recent match took place at Extreme Rules last Sunday night where he teamed up with Roman Reigns and defeated Shane McMahon as well as Drew McIntyre in a No Holds Barred Tag Team Match.
