With the January transfer window just around the table, Premier League clubs will be finalising their plans ahead of what is set to be an exciting month of negotiations. Those competing for the title are expected to splash the cash and bolster their chances of domestic success, with Arsenal and Liverpool plotting significant moves.

Following Manchester City’s steady start to the campaign, the Gunners have been given renewed hope that they can make up for last season’s late collapse by winning the Premier League. Mikel Arteta is keen for his side to sign at least a striker and a defender in the January transfer window, with several options set to be explored.

Liverpool are also in the market for reinforcements at both ends of the pitch, with a long-term injury to Joel Matip recently meaning that signing a centre-back has become a priority at Anfield. Jurgen Klopp orchestrated a major rebuild of his midfield over the summer and further additions in that department should not be ruled out, with Fulham’s Joao Palhinha among those linked.

Elsewhere, Chelsea are expected to continue their spending spree next month at the expense of some of their academy graduates, whilst Ange Postecoglou is on the search for squad depth at Tottenham. Express Sport keeps you up to date with all the latest…

According to ESPN, the Netherlands international is ‘ready’ to leave the Signal Iduna Park outfit in January amid interest from around Europe.

United are among those to hold the ex-PSV star in high regard and a swap deal involving Jadon Sancho is said to have been discussed with Dortmund, and the Red Devils do not need to fear that Malen would dig his heels in and prevent such a deal being struck.

Chelsea join race for £17m defender

Chelsea are reportedly keen to sign Red Bull Salzburg star Amar Dedic.

According to The Sun, Mauricio Pochettino’s side have joined the race to sign the right-back, with Newcastle and Arsenal also credited in holding an interest in acquiring the services of the 21-year-old.

Chelsea are said to have sent scouts to watch all four of Dedic’s Champions League matches so far this season, with representatives of Barcelona and Inter Milan also present at some matches.

A bidding war is anticipated for Dedic in January, with Transfermarkt valuing the defender at approximately £17million.
