<\/p>\nMarcus Trescothick has found himself being left out of the link after falling victim to a savage prank in England camp.<\/p>\n
Or perhaps that should read "sausage" based on the beef that's been brewing between him and some of the team's current cricket class. So much so that 'Banger' will wish he never embraced the pork-themed moniker in the first place.<\/p>\n
That's thanks to the likes of Ollie Pope and other Test stars taking every opportunity to fill the batting coach's car with his favourite food item. However, there's no guarantee Trescothick is as fond of a frankfurter as he once might have been.<\/p>\n

"We've got this thing at the minute where we just leave sausages in everything," Surrey star Pope told former Soccer AM presenters Tubes and Jimmy Bullard during a recent appearance on Golf Life. "We'll nick his car keys and then just put sausages all over his car [and] hide them in his bag. It's just the small things, isn't it?"<\/p>\n
Notorious prankster Bullard took a particular shine to that kind of ribbing, having been partial to some extracurricular hazing during his time playing for the likes of Wigan Athletic, Peterborough and Hull City. And in Pope's defence, Trescothick's past comments on his sausage fascination left him exposed to this very type of humiliation.<\/p>\n

The 47-year-old – who made 76 Test appearances for his country – was quoted by the BBC in 2008 saying: "My diet was sausages then, in no particular order, sausages, chips, sausages, toast, sausages, beans, sausages, cheese, sausages, eggs, and the occasional sausage."<\/p>\n

To that effect, 'Tresco' may in fact be more than happy to see a few bangers about his car at the end of a long day training. At the very least, he should save a few quid on the weekly shopping.<\/p>\n
It's good for players to feel everyone is on a level playing field in camp, knowing not even the coaches are safe from the odd prank. Just don't attempt to play the same kind of game with pace bowling coach Neil 'Killer' Killeen.<\/p>\n
