Manchester United and Real Madrid are set to battle over the signature of Lille sensation Nicolas Pepe this summer.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is set for a busy transfer window after seeing his side end the Premier League season in dreadful form and the manager has earmarked Pepe as a man who can bolster the attacking ranks.
The Sun, however, claim United will have to fend off stiff competition from Real Madrid, who have registered their interest with the Ligue 1 side.

It is understood Solskjaer is keen on adding firepower this summer in a bid to close the sizeable gap Manchester City and Liverpool have created.
And the right winger, who scored 21 goals and contributed 12 assists for Lille this season, has earned admirers from across Europe with his fleetness of foot and eye for goal.
Even Jose Mourinho, formerly in charge of both United and Madrid, sang the 23-year-old’s praises in an interview with French outlet L’Equipe on Wednesday.
‘Everyone knows that he is a quality player, in the making,’ the Portuguese said.
‘He played almost every game, [and] was decisive for his team.’

However, Zinedine Zidane is also plotting a summer overhaul of his own at the Bernabeu. Chelsea star Eden Hazard and Liverpool’s Sadio Mane are two players the Frenchman is interested in acquiring.
But Pepe’s meteoric rise has placed him among such esteemed names in Zidane’s star-studded summer wishlist.
The Bernabeu boss hopes Pepe could help his side mount a charge for the title and end Barcelona’s dominance in recent seasons.
