‘Mercedes and Ferrari can f*** off’ – Jeremy Clarkson launches sensational tirade on F1

Mercedes have dominated Formula One for the past five years, with Hamilton taking the bulk of the world titles to go with it.

There was plenty of optimism ahead of the 2019 season though with both Ferrari and Red Bull making major changes to try and close the gap to Mercedes.

However, that gap has somehow increased this year with Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas winning all-but one Grands Prix through 10 race weekends.

Hamilton is well on his way to winning a sixth world title, which would move him just one behind Michael Schumacher’s record haul of seven.

But while Hamilton’s dominance will undoubtedly go down in history, this season particularly hasn’t been the best spectacle for the F1 enthusiast.

Even the drivers themselves have commented on how some of the races this season have been “boring”.

It has led to a large number of fans turning away from Formula One this season, with the sport facing a critical period to make some drastic changes.

That will need to come from teams aiming to challenge Mercedes’ stance at the top, but also from the Silver Arrows themselves.

Clarkson has been a huge fan of Formula One for many years now, dating back to the golden era of the sport in the 1980s.

But even he has grown tired of modern day F1 and has demanded change quickly, taking aim at both Ferrari and Mercedes.

“I want to see [Jacques] Villeneuve and [Rene] Arnoux wheel-to-wheel last lap of the French Grand Prix and if Ferrari don’t like that they can f*** off,” he said on Youtube channel Drivetribe.

“In fact Mercedes can f*** off. They can all f*** off.

“Ferrari saying, ‘oh well we have marketing strategies’ and Mercedes saying… oh f*** off the lot of you.

“Let’s turn it into a proper sport again and not some health and safety exercise.”
