MLB wrap: D-backs now 1 1/2 games out of NL wild-card race

The Diamondbacks have put together an impressive dozen games.

Arizona has been so successful over that stretch that it’s now 1 1/2 games out of the National League wild-card race, with the help of a Cubs loss to the Brewers.

The D-backs have gone 11-1, with their most recent win Saturday 2-0 over Cincinnati, and trail only Washington and Chicago in the wild-card standings.

Rookie pitcher Alex Young kept the Reds at bay as he struck out 12 in eight innings of work. He allowed just two hits toeing the rubber.
