MLB hot stove: Adam Jones, Diamondbacks agree on 1-year deal, report says

Center fielder Adam Jones has found a new home in the desert.

According to multiple reports, Jones and the Diamondbacks agreed to a one-year deal that will bring the 13-year veteran to Arizona, pending a physical. The news first came from Dontrelle Willis of Fox Sports 1, who was excited to announce Jones’ new team — and rightfully so.

Jones will bank $3 million guaranteed once the deal is complete, according to an ESPN report.

Once finalized, Adam Jones’ deal with the Arizona Diamondbacks will be for one year and $3M guaranteed, sources tell ESPN.

The longtime Oriole entered free agency after completing one of the largest contracts in the organization’s history at six years and $85.5 million.

Jones finished the 2018 season with a .281/.313/.419 slash line and 15 home runs, 35 doubles and 63 RBI in 145 games.

Jones, a four Gold Glove recipient and Silver Slugger awardee, will leave Baltimore ranked fifth in franchise history in hits and home runs and sixth in RBI.
