Zion Williamson switches Nike shoes after Paul George model blowout

Zion Williamson appears to be changing his shoes.

The Duke star will wear Nike Kyrie 4s, the signature sneaker of Celtics star Kyrie Irving, in his return from a knee sprain Thursday against Syracuse in the ACC Tournament, according to a picture posted by the school.

Williamson originally suffered the injury when his Paul George “PG 2.5” shoes ripped while he was driving to the basket less than 40 seconds into Duke’s first matchup against North Carolina on Feb. 20 and has not played since.

The Blue Devils have gone 3-3 in his absence, including a pair of losses to the Tar Heels.

The freshman has been one of the best players in college basketball this season and is projected to be selected with the No. 1 pick in the 2019 draft. He’s averaging 21.6 points and 8.8 rebounds while shooting 68.3 percent from the field in 2018-19.

Duke’s matchup against Syracuse will tip off Thursday at approximately 9 p.m. ET in the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, N.C.
